ABOUT JAMAICA JAMS

Celebrating 29 years’ of fond memories of culture, community, vitality and commerce on Jamaica Avenue. Join us the first weekend in August, one day or both days, for the Jamaica Arts & Music Summer (JAMS) Festival which attracts upwards of 150,000 +residents and visitors to downtown Jamaica. To celebrate, we begin with a moonlight evening concert called JAMS Under the Stars and continue the next day with an Open-air JAMS Festival on 10 blocks of Jamaica Avenue, (Parsons Blvd. to 170th Streets), closed to vehicular traffic to commemorate this historic milestone.

JAMAICA JAMS showcases the vibrant Culture of the Borough of Queens through its diverse talents, foods, fashions and arts, promoting family and Youth centered activities, the Arts, Collaborative Members, Community Partners, Small Business and Tourism for Southeast Queens.

JAMS UNDER THE STARS - Rufus King Park

Friday, August 1st, 6:00pm to 10:00pm

An evening concert on the great lawn of historic Rufus King Park, that kicks off the next day's festivities, paying homage to the musical icons of Southeast Queens with jazz, R&B, Rock & Funk…

JAMAICA JAMS showcases the vibrant Multi-Culture of the Borough of Queens through its foods, fashions and arts, promoting family & Youth centered activities, presented by Collaborative Members, Community/Small Businesses and Tourism for Southeast Queens.  A full day of multi-cultural family fun, shopping, foods, community resources and entertainment. Located on (10) blocks of Jamaica Ave., closed to vehicular traffic.
